Offer letter bisa diibaratkan sebagai sebuah surat sakti yang menjadi jaminan bahwa kita memang sudah masuk dan lolos untuk bekerja di kapal pesiar. Biasanya offer letter dikirimkan beberapa hari sebelum tanggal keberangkatan. Adanya offer letter juga bisa dijadikan acuan sehingga tidak ragu lagi untuk masalah bayar membayar dengan agent. Berikut ini contoh offer letter pada saat saya apply online di sebuah agency based di Bristol, UK.

Thank you for taking the time from your schedule to participate in the telephone interview.

On behalf of your employer, Hxx Bxx Limited, we take great pleasure in confirming their offer to you of a position as Sxx Axx on xxx cruise ships. This offer is conditional on our receiving 2 satisfactory references from your previous & current employer.

Please find enclosed a letter to support your application for a C1D Visa, you will need to make an appointment by calling The American Embassy in your country of residence. (Although there is a ship’s name on the form, this is not an indication of which ship you will be joining, it is merely information that has been provided to assist your application. The same applies to the length of the contract. Whilst a 12 month period is indicated on the letter, your contract will be for between six and eight months.)

During your interview you were informed of the certificates you will be required to obtain: PST (Basic Sea Survival STCW95), Crowd Management (STCW95), Norwegian Maritime Directorate Medical and Yellow Fever Vaccination. Please forward copies once you have obtained these.

In order for you to obtain your PST (Basic Sea Survival STCW95) & Crowd Management (STCW95) you will need to call the Directorate General of Sea Communications, Gedung Karya Lantai 12 s/d 17, Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat No. 8, Jakarta 10110. tel.: +6221 344 7017,381 3269 or 1308 ext 4209,4223,4227 to see where they do these courses in your country.

In order to obtain the Norwegian Maritime Directorate Medical, you will need to contact Dr. Nusye Edithe Zamsiar, Maritime Medical Centre, Klinik Rajawali Lestari Kondominium, Jl. Senen Raya No. 66, Jakarta 10410, tel/fax: +62 21 3440039

Please find enclosed an application form for a British Seaman’s Discharge Book (in case you can not obtain the one from Indonesia), of which we will also need a photocopy when it has been returned to you. You must have your 2 photographs and a copy of your passport countersigned by the same person who completes section F, this person must be of a social standing such as GP or solicitor, for further details please refer to guidance notes.

Please confirm to us in writing by return your acceptance of this position and of your understanding of the next steps to be undertaken.
